Kitchen Demo- Part 1

I'm sorry again for the long break between posts- but we finally are making some real and exciting progress on our kitchen! I know I have said it before- but my dad is AWESOME and came down last week to help us tear out the first part of our cabinets. It may not look like much, but even opening up our kitchen a LITTLE makes me SO excited for what the final product will be!

 From the moment we started removing the cabinets, I already knew I was in love! Even opening this up the SLIGHTEST bit started helping to make the space feel larger.

Here is a before and after shot- SO MUCH BETTER! We still have to remove the cabinets to the left of the stove and plan to do that next weekend! 

We  also took down the old light fixtures in the kitchen and added some recessed lighting, a pendant over the sink and a small chandelier over the [future] coffee nook. 

The recessed lighting REALLY brightens up the space and we love having a pendant over the sink when we are washing dishes!

I love, LOVE this new chandelier. As many of you know, I love Joanna Gaines from the HGTV Show Fixer Upper, and I had been looking for a chandelier similar to the one seen HERE in her shop. I found this one on Amazon and I LOVE it! It really is beautiful!

We have a full to do list for the next couple of weeks with removing the rest of our cabinets, getting our appliances delivered, cabinet construction, (the list goes on) and I could not be more excited!
